Features and Enhancements ✨

The organization-level Volunteers page has several enhancements. The application views, bulk actions, full screen, and Add Volunteers functions all work the same way they did before.

Volunteer List

  • You can now save the filters, columns, and column sort orders you apply as a custom view, so you can return to specific segments of volunteers later without rebuilding them. You can also bookmark views, create folders of views, and make a view your default to quickly access the views you use the most.

  • You can now reorder columns more quickly from a condensed column screen instead of dragging columns on the Volunteers list.

  • On the Volunteers list, you can now pin columns, hide columns, and expand the content of all rows in the list.

  • To make switching between common views easier, the All Volunteers, Pending Applications, and Rejected Applications views all appear directly on the Volunteers list instead of in a drop-down list.

  • The Search bar now prioritizes volunteer first names, last names, and email addresses.

  • In the Take Action drop-down list, Customize no longer appears in the Export to .CSV options. Instead, you can now build a custom view first and then export all the columns or only the columns currently displayed.

  • In the Export to .CSV bulk action, the Current Columns Displaying and All Columns options now send the download option to your account email address instead of downloading to your device immediately.

  • In general, the Volunteers page has a refreshed design that includes text on all buttons instead of only icons for some, renamed buttons (for example, Add Volunteers instead of + volunteers), minor layout changes, and updated Bloomerang Volunteer colors for some interface elements.

Volunteer List Filters

  • You can now make changes to multiple filters or columns at the same time without saving each one separately.

  • When you add or change filters, a section appears on the Volunteers list that you can expand and collapse to view all active filters without opening the entire filters list.

  • When you select all volunteers to take a bulk action, you can now choose to apply the action to every volunteer that matches your current filter or to the volunteers on the current page only.

  • You can now connect filters using And or Or both for filters with multiple options and for views with more than one filter. And shows volunteers who match all the selected criteria; Or shows volunteers who match any of them. For example, when you select a Qualifications filter, you can choose to show volunteers with both Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, or volunteers with either one. The same logic applies across multiple filters.

  • To make tracking recent recruitment easier, all date-based filters include three new options: In the Last, Matches, and Between Matches. In the Last includes results in the last X number of days, weeks, months, or years. Select Matches or Between Matches to specify years, months, or days (you do not need to specify all three time units).

Features and Enhancements ✨

You can now enable a Show signed-up volunteers setting to help volunteers coordinate their opportunity shift signups with friends, teammates, and other volunteers.

  • Show signed-up volunteers is part of the Signup Workflow settings and appears during the shift selection step for an opportunity when enabled. It doesn't change the public shift preview or what volunteers see after they sign up.

  • Volunteers can view who else is signed up or on the waitlist for a shift when they open the details for a shift.

  • The setting is disabled by default, so nothing changes for your volunteers until you enable it for an opportunity.

  • The Signed Up and Waitlist lists order volunteers alphabetically by first name and show how many volunteers are scheduled compared to the number of available spots.

  • Number-based groups show the number of spots their signup claims for the shift.

  • When a volunteer edits a shift they already signed up for, a You tag marks their own row on whichever list they're on, so they can find themselves quickly.

  • On longer lists, a search box appears so volunteers can find a specific person without scrolling.

Features and Enhancements ✨

Bloomerang Giving Platform

  • Automatic connection setup with Bloomerang CRM. For organizations new to the Bloomerang Giving Platform that have Bloomerang CRM along with Bloomerang Fundraising, Bloomerang Volunteer, or both, the products now connect automatically during onboarding. You no longer need to create and enter an API key yourself to link them.

  • Syncing between Bloomerang Volunteer and Bloomerang CRM. In Bloomerang Volunteer, on the Platform Settings page, the Automatic Sync and Sync New Volunteers settings are turned on by default, so your data begins flowing without any manual setup.

  • Connection restoration with Bloomerang CRM. If the credentials become invalid for the platform connection between Bloomerang CRM and Bloomerang Fundraising or Bloomerang Volunteer, Bloomerang now restores the connection automatically to prevent delays in your data flow.

Features and Enhancements ✨

New Date-Range Filters

  • The Opportunity Schedule now defaults to a Today & Upcoming Six Months view, so it loads faster instead of pulling every shift at once. This view shows all shifts within six months (roughly 182 days) of today, across the Scheduled Shifts, Scheduled Roles, and Scheduled Volunteers views (list and calendar).

  • Select the new Beyond Six Months filter to see all shifts scheduled after that window.

  • All existing date-range filter options (Past Dates, All Dates, and Custom Date Range) work the same as before.

  • Date-range filter views are available to Opportunity Manager, Role Manager, and Event Manager administrators on the Opportunity-level schedule.

Opportunity Status Filters

  • On the organization-level Opportunities table, the Current filter is now called Status and gives you more control over which opportunities appear.

  • You can now filter to show current, upcoming, or past opportunities, or combinations of opportunities: current and upcoming, current and past, or past and upcoming.

  • Applying a filter shows the total number of matching opportunities, and you can clear any filter to return to the full list.

To make navigation across the product easier, Bloomerang Volunteer has the following updates:

  • The Form & Profile Fields page now shows whether form questions are turned on or off for your organization or opportunity. It also has a shortcut you can click to go directly to form question controls in the signup workflow.

We also added the following interface changes for improved clarity across the platform:

Features and Enhancements ✨

To provide a more consistent and intuitive experience, we added several enhancements to the design, layout, and navigation of the manager view. If the URL changed for any of your bookmarked pages, the bookmarked URL will automatically go to the new URL.

Managerial roles have updated titles to align with broader Bloomerang standards. The following changes appear in both the web and mobile applications:

  • Organization Managers are now Full Organization Managers

  • Opportunity Managers are now Limited Organization Managers

  • Event Managers are now Opportunity Managers

  • Supervisors, Administrators, and Group Leaders are now standardized as Shift, Check-in, and Group Managers

Navigational menus and features have several updates:

  • Every page in the manager view now has both a title and a page description

  • Organization and Opportunity menus now include similar items grouped by administrative function: Dashboard, People, Schedule, Communications, Reports, Controls, and Settings

  • The opportunity bulk actions drop-down list now includes Controls and Settings categories (with nested actions) to match the main page menus

  • Each opportunity now has a Dashboard page featuring a Signup Status tile, clickable shortcut metrics, shareable signup links, and a summary of key setup details

  • Several pages include new or updated Page Tour links that demonstrate the layout and capabilities of the page when clicked

  • The Help menu now includes System Status, and a Platform Tour option that provides an interactive, high-level overview of the manager view

  • The manager view no longer has a footer, and the previous links are relocated:

    • System Status appears in the Help menu in the main navigational bar

    • Mobile app links appear in opportunities within Controls > Mobile App

    • Privacy and Terms appear on Bloomerang's main website

Key settings and pages have been renamed or moved to more specific functional areas (read the full list):

  • Respectively, the new Controls and Settings menu categories separate administrative tasks into more static system behaviors or more immediate, interactive configurations.

  • Certain features are easier to find on new opportunity-level pages including Documents, Public Information, and Private Information, as well as the Time Tracking page (organization-level and opportunity-level).

  • The Embed Opportunities button is now on the main Opportunities page.

  • We moved settings (such as an opportunity's Logo, Key Information, and Documents) from the old Recruitment page to the specific areas where they are managed. These changes make registration setup easier for both organizations and opportunities.

  • The Manage Senders and Authenticate Domains pages are now tertiary tabs on one combined Email Configurations page.

  • The Roles & Qualifications and Reports & Imports pages are now separated into individual pages for clearer management.

Additional enhancements and automations include the following:

  • Application periods are now independent of visibility settings. The Signup Button State now automatically deactivates when an application period ends.

  • New Update shortcut links allow managers to go directly between related pages (for example, from a signup error to the General settings needed to fix it).

  • Managers can now import Tags, Categories, and Language Strings directly from the main Imports page within Settings. All tag and language imports now appear in the import history table.

  • For tag imports, the Import from .CSV button is now nested in the + Categories button drop-down list.

  • Bloomerang Volunteer now triggers warnings for scheduling conflicts if availability is not being collected while rostering is active.

  • Document upload fields now display maximum file sizes and trigger error messages for oversized files.

  • On the Opportunities page, the filters have the following updates:

    • Opportunity Settings is now Opportunity Controls

    • Signup Workflow Settings is now Signup Workflow and contains the Signup Button State filter

On the organization level, the Signup Workflow page now includes a Preview Workflow section with the organization's public page link.

Login- and session-based features and settings

To provide a more secure and unified experience across the Bloomerang Giving Platform, we've updated several login- and session-based features and settings:

  • Organization managers can now turn on or turn off two-factor authentication (2FA) for an organization. When enabled, managers can "Trust this device" for 30 days. Note that 2FA applies only to managers and does not apply to volunteer-only users.

  • If Bloomerang Volunteer states that a password reset link expired, you can now request a new link from the error page to save time.

  • To enhance security, the maximum number of failed login attempts is now 5 (previously 20).

  • If locked out due to failed login attempts, the lockout period is now 15 minutes.

  • Managers are now logged out after four hours of inactivity. If you are active in another Bloomerang product linked to your account through SSO, your session will stay active.

  • The maximum session length for managers is now 24 hours (previously 48).

  • If one volunteer is locked out of their account on a device, other volunteer users can now log in on the same device from the login, organization, or opportunity pages.

In addition, we've refreshed the visual design of our core authentication pages to align with the Bloomerang Volunteer brand:

  • The login, password, and claim account pages for managers have branding and design updates.

  • The admin login pages now have the same footer as the volunteer login pages.

  • The volunteer login and password pages now feature the signature Bloomerang Volunteer product colors.

  • When you click the language selector on manager and volunteer login pages, the languages appear in a drop-down list instead of a dialogue box.

Bloomerang Volunteer also has these updates:
