How long can a session be open on Bloomerang Volunteer?

Updated over a month ago

Your session starts when you log in to Bloomerang Volunteer. To increase security and protect your data, sessions have a maximum time limit based on user type and application:

User Type

Platform

Maximum Session Time

Manager

Bloomerang Volunteer (web)

24 hours

Volunteer

Bloomerang Volunteer (web)

48 hours

All users

Bloomerang Volunteer mobile app

48 hours

After you reach the maximum session time, you must log in to the application again.

Note: Sessions for managers also expire when they become idle, after four hours of inactivity.

Before your session expires, a notification banner appears to remind you to save your work. The banner appears at the following times:

  • 30 minutes before a 48-hour session ends

  • 15 minutes before a manager’s session becomes idle

Banner with session timeout warning, with option to click and renew your session.

Click renew your session to stay on the current page and save your work. If you do not renew your session, and the maximum session time passes, you must log in again.

If you are a manager, and your account is linked to other Bloomerang products through single sign-on (SSO):

  • Activity in any linked Bloomerang product automatically extends your Bloomerang Volunteer session.

  • If your Bloomerang Volunteer session expires due to inactivity, you are logged out of all linked Bloomerang products simultaneously.
