Generate and manage public API keys in Bloomerang Volunteer to connect Bloomerang Volunteer to third-party tools and custom integrations. You must be a Full Organization Manager to manage Public API keys.
Note: If you created a public API key before this self-service feature was released, the API keys you created previously also appear in the list of your public API keys. Fake or placeholder users from an old API key do not appear.
Generate Public API Keys
To generate a Public API key:
If you are in more than one organization, make sure you are in the right one.
In the side navigation, click Data Tools.
Click API Access.
Click Generate Key.
In the text box, enter a name for the key.
Click Generate Key.
Your key appears in the API Access table.
Activate or Deactivate Public API Keys
If you are in more than one organization, make sure you are in the right one.
In the side navigation, click Data Tools.
Click API Access.
In the row for your API key, click the toggle switch to make the API key active or inactive.
View or Copy Public API Keys
The API Access page shows the following information for the public API keys you have created:
API key name
API key
Date Created
Last Used
Expiration Date
Status
To view or copy an existing Public API key:
If you are in more than one organization, make sure you are in the right one.
In the side navigation, click Data Tools.
Click API Access. The list of API keys appears in the table on the page.
To copy an API key, click Copy in the row for that API key.
Edit Public API Keys
To edit an existing public API key:
If you are in more than one organization, make sure you are in the right one.
In the side navigation, click Data Tools.
Click API Access.
In the row for your API key, click the Action drop-down.
Do one of the following:
Select Edit API key name, edit the name, and then click Confirm.
Select Delete, then click Delete Key to confirm your choice.
Select Edit expiration date, enter the expiration date (or use the calendar tool), and then click Save.
