View Automations and Related Emails, Tasks, and Interactions

Updated this week

You can view all of your automations in one list. This list shows you:

  • All automations created by everyone in your organization

  • The status of each automation (Running, Paused, Draft, Archived)

  • Real-time analytics for each automation

  • How automations are manually prioritized (if you have multiple automations for the same type of donation)

You can also view emails, tasks, and interactions created by automations.

View Automations

To view a list of automations:

  1. Click Communications.

  2. Click Journey Automation. All automations created by your organization appear in a list.

  4. To view analytics for an automation, click the automation. You can view totals and a constituent list for each status. Read about automation analytics.

  5. If you have multiple automations for the same type of donation, click Edit Priority to view how those are prioritized. Read about priority.

  6. To view who added or last modified a step in an automation, click the automation. Each step includes a timestamp and the name of a Bloomerang user.

View Entry Sources and Actions in Published Automations

You can view the settings for a running automation without pausing the automation. You can also view the settings for a paused or archived automation.

  • Entry source — When the automation is running, paused, or archived, you can view but not edit the entry source settings and filters.

  • Task actions — When the automation is running or archived, you can view but not edit task action settings and the Assigned To user.

  • Email actions — When the automation is running or archived, you can view but not edit email actions and the email message.

To view details about entry sources and actions after you publish an automation:

  1. From the Automations list, click the automation.

  2. To view the entry source details, click the down arrow next to the entry source name.

  4. To view the email in an email action:

    • If the automation is running or archived, click the down arrow in that email action. Next, select View Email.

    • If the automation is paused, click the three vertical dots and select Edit. You can both view and edit a paused email action. You can only edit the email message if it hasn’t been sent.

View Automation Tasks and Interactions

When an automation assigns a task to someone in your organization, that task appears with other tasks on the Bloomerang dashboard, the Active Tasks list, or on a constituent's timeline. Read about how to view tasks.

To determine whether a task was assigned by an automation, you can:

  • Open an interaction from the constituent’s timeline. If a task was created by an automation, the Created timestamp includes the words “by Journey Automation.” The date and time reflect when the automation assigned the task, which happened when the constituent reached that step in the automation.

  • Run a report. For example, create a task report, include the Created By and Is filters, and enter Journey Automation.

View Automation Emails and Interactions

To view automation emails, you can:

  • Go to Settings > Emails.

  • Go to the constituent’s timeline.

You can also run an interaction report to generate a list of emails sent by Journey Automation.
