Activate the Mailchimp integration to sync data between Bloomerang CRM and Mailchimp.

Note: As of September 26, 2024, an enhanced Mailchimp integration is available in Bloomerang CRM. This article describes how to activate or deactivate the enhanced integration. If you set up the Mailchimp integration before that date, and you haven't yet upgraded to the enhanced integration, read Mailchimp Basics (Edit the Legacy Integration) to manage your legacy integration.

Before You Begin
Before you activate the Mailchimp integration:
Make sure you know the email address and password for your Mailchimp account. You’ll enter this information in Bloomerang CRM to enable the integration.
In Bloomerang CRM, make sure you have groups, email interests, or both configured.
In Mailchimp, make sure you have groups configured for the Mailchimp audience that you plan to use in Bloomerang CRM.
Make sure that Bloomerang CRM constituents you want to sync have active individual accounts with valid email addresses.
Activate the Mailchimp Integration
To activate the Mailchimp integration for the first time:
In Bloomerang CRM, click Settings.
Click Integrations.
Click Integrated Partners.
Click Settings.
In the Email section, select Mailchimp.
Click Save.
To confirm, click Save again.
Click Go to Mailchimp.
Click Connect.
Log in to your Mailchimp account.
Click Allow.
Wait for Mailchimp to authorize Bloomerang CRM as a trusted app, which takes just a moment. In Bloomerang CRM, the Mailchimp Mappings page opens.
Click Add New.
From the Mapping Type drop-down list, select a mapping type:
Bloomerang CRM Group to Mailchimp Tag
Bloomerang CRM Email Interest to Mailchimp Group
If you select Bloomerang CRM Group to Mailchimp Tag:
If you select Bloomerang CRM Email Interest to Mailchimp Group:
Select an Email Interest that appears in Bloomerang CRM.
Select a Group that appears in Mailchimp.
To add more mappings, click Add New.
To change the audience, click Edit. Select a different audience and click Continue.
Note: If you have only one audience configured in Mailchimp, Bloomerang CRM uses that audience by default.Click Save and Sync. The sync automatically starts and the Status changes from Ready to Sync in Progress.
Tip: To quickly open your Mailchimp account from the Mailchimp Mappings page in Bloomerang CRM, click Go to Mailchimp.
Monitor the Sync Status
Your first sync takes the longest and might take several minutes or more, depending on how much data needs to be synced. You can go to other pages in Bloomerang CRM while the sync is in progress.
After the sync completes, the number of synced constituents appears next to each mapping in Bloomerang CRM. The Status changes to Last synced on [date].
Bloomerang CRM automatically starts the sync every hour. You can also manually start a sync at any time. Read more about how to sync.
Change Mappings, Audience, and Other Settings
After you enable the integration and sync, you can always:
Add, edit, or delete mappings
Edit the Mailchimp audience
View the connected Mailchimp account for this integration
Deactivate the Mailchimp Integration
After you deactivate the Mailchimp integration, data no longer syncs between Bloomerang CRM and Mailchimp. The mapping rules that you set up are deleted. If you activate the integration again later, you must create new mapping rules.
To deactivate the Mailchimp integration:
In Bloomerang CRM, click Settings.
Click Integrations.
Click Integrated Partners.
Click Settings.
In the Email section, click Deactivate.
To confirm, click Yes.
