Mailchimp Terms
Audience
An Audience is where you store and manage all of your contact data in Mailchimp. All of the constituent information you sync from Bloomerang CRM is added to one Audience in Mailchimp. You must create the Audience before connecting Bloomerang CRM and Mailchimp. For more information, view Create a Mailchimp Audience on the Mailchimp site.
Groups
Groups are used to sort subscribed contacts based on their interests in Mailchimp. Bloomerang CRM email interests map to Mailchimp Groups when you sync constituent data to Mailchimp. If Groups exist in the Audience, you can map to them in step 2. New Groups can also be created during step 2. For more information about Groups, view Getting Started with Groups on the Mailchimp site.
Fields
Mailchimp allows up to 30 fields to use as merge fields in your Mailchimp Audience. Choose Bloomerang CRM constituent fields to map to corresponding Mailchimp fields. When you use a template to sync data from Bloomerang CRM to Mailchimp, your contacts in Mailchimp are updated with data from these Bloomerang CRM fields. You can then use this data in your Emails in Mailchimp.
Tags
Tags are used in Mailchimp as labels to help organize your contacts. When you sync constituent data to Mailchimp using a template, a unique Tag is created on the constituents that were synced. The Template Name plus a unique timestamp is used as the name for the Tag in Mailchimp. In Mailchimp, you’ll select the Tag that was created in order to finish creating your email. For more information about Tags, view Getting Started with Tags on the Mailchimp site.
