Bloomerang CRM automatically starts the Mailchimp sync every hour. You can also manually start a sync at any time.

Note: As of September 26, 2024, an enhanced Mailchimp integration is available in Bloomerang CRM. This article describes the enhanced integration. If you set up the Mailchimp integration before that date, and you haven't yet upgraded to the enhanced integration, read Mailchimp Basics (Edit the Legacy Integration) to manage your legacy integration.
In this article:
Manually Sync
You can manually sync at any time. If you start a manual sync, the next scheduled automatic sync proceeds as usual.
To start a manual sync:
In Bloomerang CRM, click Settings.
Click Integrations.
Click Integrated Partners.
Click Settings.
In the Email section, click Go to Mailchimp.
Click Sync Now.
The status changes to Sync in Progress. You can go to other pages in Bloomerang CRM while the sync is in progress.
View the Last Sync Date
After the sync completes, the number of synced constituents appears next to each mapping in Bloomerang CRM. The Status changes to Last synced on [date].
View Constituents Synced from Mailchimp
In Bloomerang CRM, contacts synced from Mailchimp appear as constituents. In constituent profiles:
The Created name is Mailchimp.
The Last Modified Name is Mailchimp if changes synced from Mailchimp modified the constituent.
To create a list of constituents created or modified by Mailchimp, run a report in Bloomerang CRM. For example, create a constituent report and select the Created By filter, Last Modified By filter, or both. In the filter, enter Mailchimp.
View Email Activity Synced from Mailchimp
Email activity synced from Mailchimp appears in interactions on constituent timelines. When you open an interaction, this information appears:
Whether the email was sent
Whether the recipient opened the email
Whether the recipient clicked a link
Which links the recipients clicked
Email activity also affects engagement scores.
To view Mailchimp email activity for a constituent:
In Bloomerang CRM, go to the constituent’s account.
Click Timeline. Each email that you send from Mailchimp appears as a separate interaction on the timeline.
Click the interaction. Email tracking stats appear.
Tip: To see up-to-date tracking information, wait for the next automatic sync or start a manual sync now.
For detailed tracking information, click the Mailchimp link in the Bloomerang CRM interaction. The email campaign opens in Mailchimp, where you view a detailed report.
Create Email Interaction Reports
To create a list of email interactions created or modified by Mailchimp, run a report in Bloomerang CRM. For example, you can:
Create a constituent report and select the Has Interactions filter. In the filter settings, select Specific Interactions and add the Channel filter. Finally, select Mailchimp Mass Email.
Create an interaction report and select the Created By filter. In the filter settings, enter Mailchimp.
View Data Synced from Bloomerang CRM
Data synced from Bloomerang CRM appears in Mailchimp:
Synced Bloomerang CRM constituents appear as contacts.
Synced Bloomerang CRM groups appear as tags.
Synced Bloomerang CRM email interests appear as groups.
In Mailchimp, view the list of subscribed contacts or click a contact to determine which contacts synced from Bloomerang CRM. The Source or Originated From name is Bloomerang. You can also see when the contact was added and last changed.

Troubleshoot Sync Issues
If a constituent won’t sync from Bloomerang CRM to Mailchimp, make sure the constituent’s account:
Is an individual account, not an organization account.
Is active. Constituents with an Inactive or Deceased status won’t sync.
Includes a valid name.
Includes a valid email address. If the email address is marked as bad, the constituent won’t sync.
If a contact won’t sync from Mailchimp to Bloomerang CRM, make sure the contact’s account:
Is active. Contacts with an Inactive or Archived status won’t sync.
Includes a valid name.
Includes a valid email address. If the email address is marked as invalid because of a hard bounce, the contact won’t sync.
