After you create an email, you can send it now or schedule it to send later. As a best practice, we recommend that you preview and test your email before you send it.
This article helps you send or schedule mass emails. To automate donation acknowledgements, drip campaigns, and milestone communications for individual donors, we recommend that you use Journey Automation.

Before You Send
Before you send an email, make sure it looks okay and the recipient list is correct. Preview the following:
Layout — Email structure and how it will appear on desktop, mobile, and devices with dark mode enabled
Design — Header (subject and sender) and content (populated merge fields and other content elements)
Recipients — Total number of recipients, total number of skipped recipients, and the first 100 email addresses
It's also a good idea to send a test email to yourself or others in your organization. Read about how to preview and test emails.
Important: Once an email is sent to recipients, it is locked to preserve a record of the message, settings, and recipients and cannot be edited further. Test emails sent using the Send Test Email button remain open for editing.

Send Emails Now
To send an email now:
Click Communications.
Click Emails.
Next to the email you plan to send, click Action.
Click Preview.
Click Send and then click Send Now.
Click Yes. Bloomerang CRM builds your mass email, which might take a few minutes depending on the recipient list size.
After building your email, Bloomerang CRM sends it. Bloomerang CRM sends large mass emails in smaller bursts to avoid spam and delivery issues. It might take a few minutes to an hour for everyone to receive your email, depending on the mailing list size.
After your email is sent, the email is locked from editing and an email interaction appears on each recipient’s timeline. View the interaction to see the generated email and tracking statistics.
Schedule Emails
Schedule an email up to one year in advance.
To schedule an email:
Click Communications.
Click Emails.
Do one of the following:
On the Emails page, next to the email you plan to send, click Action.
On the Edit Email page, click Save As and select Preview.
Click Send and then click Schedule for Later.
Select the sending Frequency: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Once.
Click Save And Schedule.
On the scheduled date, within 15 minutes of the time you selected, Bloomerang CRM uses the filters selected in the email settings to build the recipient list and send the email. If no constituents match the email filters at the time the email is scheduled to be sent, Bloomerang CRM doesn't send the mass email. Bloomerang CRM sends you an email to let you know and tries to send the email again at the next scheduled time.
Note: If your device and Bloomerang CRM account are set to different time zones, the time zone appears in red after the Frequency settings. To make sure you send emails at the time you intend, update your device or Bloomerang account to the same time zone.
View Scheduled Emails and Schedule Details
To view a list of scheduled emails and schedule details:
Click Communications.
Click Emails.
Select the Active and Scheduled filters.
To view more details about the schedule, hover over the Frequency.
Edit or Delete Email Schedules
To edit or delete email schedules:
Click Communications.
Click Emails.
Click Action and select Edit.
Click Edit or Delete Schedule.
To change the schedule, make your changes and click Save and Schedule.
To change the schedule, click Delete Schedule.
Tip: If you're on the Edit Email page, click Save And and select Preview. Then, click Edit or Delete Schedule.
