Create and manage events with Kindful Fundraising. Offer multiple ticket types, including free and paid options, gain insights into ticket purchasers and attendees, and create custom hosted event pages.
On event pages, donors can pay with a credit card, bank account, and digital wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo). For more information, view Payment Methods in Kindful Fundraising.
Access Kindful Fundraising
After you set up Kindful Fundraising, click Kindful in Bloomerang.
Tip: If you don't see Kindful Fundraising in Bloomerang, email [email protected] to discuss adding Kindful Fundraising to your Bloomerang subscription.
Create an Event
To create an event:
From the navigation menu, click Events.
Click Create Event
The Create Event page opens.Enter information on these pages:
Event Details (1/5)
Enter the Event Name.
Enter the Start Date, Start Time, and Time Zone of your event.
If your event is taking place in a physical location, be sure to add Venue Name and Location.Set the Event Capacity Limit to your desired number or click the checkbox next to Unlimited. All ticket types are marked unavailable on the public page when this number is met.
In the Bloomerang Integration Sync Settings section:
Select Assign Bloomerang Fund and select a fund.
(Recommended) Assign a Bloomerang campaign and appeal. Kindful event transactions map to your selected fund, campaign, and appeal in Bloomerang.
(Optional) Under Notification Email, you can choose to send staff at your organization a notification email any time an event form is submitted. Enter up to five email addresses.
Click Next to continue creating your event or Cancel to exit.
Tip: Create an appeal in Bloomerang for each Kindful event so you can easily report on the event.
Ticket Types (2/5)
You can create up to 9 ticket types per event. If no tickets for the event are publicly visible, the Register button on the public page will be hidden.
The Ticket is visible to the public toggle is on by default. Turn it off to remove a specific ticket type from the public page.
Add the Ticket name, Ticket price, and the number of Attendees per ticket. Tickets can be marked as Free (the transaction entry in Bloomerang will have a $0 amount) and only the ticket buyer will be added to Bloomerang. You can view attendee information in Kindful Fundraising. See Manage Your Events In Kindful Fundraising for more if.
Note: Attendees per ticket is the number of attendees one ticket includes. For example, 1 ticket can include 10 attendees. The number of attendees per ticket displays on the public page and during the checkout process, so customers can be sure of what they are purchasing.
Add the Available Quantity. This can be any number equal to or less than the number you set for the Event Capacity Limit.
Note: When there are 10 or fewer tickets for this ticket type remaining, the public page shows this message: "Limited Number of Tickets." If tickets sell out, the ticket type is marked as unavailable on the public page. If you refund tickets, tickets become available again.
Set the Ticket Availability Start Date and Start Time, then optionally set the end date and time. Setting an end date and time allows you the ability to do a timed sale of the ticket type.
Optionally, set Non-tax deductible amount and a description if this applies to the ticket type.
Click Add another ticket type to create an additional type, or click Next to continue or Back to return to step 1.
Information to Collect (3/5)
Select the information you want to collect about each attendee and the ticket buyer. Add or delete fields that you want to appear on the registration form. Require some or all fields.
To automatically add attendees as constituents in Bloomerang, and to automatically add an interaction to the constituent’s timeline, require these fields:
First Name
Last Name
Email
These fields are selected as required by default.
Ticket buyers can skip fields that you don’t require. For example, a ticket buyer might enter information for only some attendees because other attendees are unknown.
When an attendee registers and provides a first name, last name, and email address:
The attendee is automatically added as a constituent in Bloomerang
An interaction is automatically added to the constituent’s timeline in Bloomerang with this information:
Channel: Other
Purpose: Special Event
Date: [Date of Registration]
Subject: Registered for [Event Name]
Click Next to move to the next step or Back to edit a previous step.
Custom Fields (4/5)
Add up to five constituent custom fields from Bloomerang on your form.
Enter the name of the custom field to search for it, then click on the custom field to add it to the form. As you add custom fields, you'll see them displayed on the preview.
Under Required, click the checkbox to make the field required on the form.
Under Hide/Show, toggle if you'd like the field to be displayed on the form.
Click Next to continue or Back to return to the previous step.
Event Sign Up Page (5/5)
Set the remaining description and style options of your event.
Add a Background Image, Event description and Details.
You can set the Theme Color for the event by selecting one of the provided options. If you have brand colors you would like to use, choose Custom and add your brand’s hex color code.
Add Custom event URL for the event.
Choose if you would like to allow ticket buyers to offset processing fees or even add an additional donation to the ticket purchase.
Click Save to finish creating your event form, or Back to make changes.
Tip: Go to the Communications settings for your event and set up who will receive Notifications when tickets are purchased, and customize the Ticket buyer confirmation email. See Manage Your Events in Kindful Fundraising for more information.
