Bloomerang CRM categorizes transaction types as either raised or revenue.
Raised
Raised is money you received from donations plus the total value of any pledge that has been made but not necessarily paid on.
Raised includes donation payments, recurring donation payments, and pledges. If you have the membership management add-on, raised also includes membership payments.
Revenue
Revenue is money you actually received from your constituents.
Revenue includes donation payments, pledge payments, and recurring donation payments. If you have the membership management add-on, revenue also includes membership payments.

Recurring donation schedules, membership schedules, and soft credits are not considered raised or revenue transaction types, so the key difference between raised and revenue is between pledges (raised) and pledge payments (revenue).
Raised and Revenue Amounts in Bloomerang CRM
Raised and revenue amounts can be found in the following areas of Bloomerang CRM.
Dashboard — On the Home page, on the Totals by Level tile, you can toggle between Revenue and Raised for transaction data. For each campaign, the progress bar shows the amount raised for that campaign.
Giving Summary — In each constituent profile, the Giving Summary on the Summary Page, you can toggle between raised and revenue transactions and soft credits.
Groups Summary — On the Group Details page for any group, view a revenue and transaction summary.
Reports — In reports, raised and revenue amounts are available in as both filters and columns.
"Giving" refers to a constituent's highest total giving amount in any fiscal year. Giving includes revenue transactions and soft credits, but not revenue transactions that include soft credits. For more information, read About Giving Levels.
Raised and Revenue in Reporting
You can report on raised and revenue amounts in both transaction reports and constituent reports. Use transaction reports if you are looking for full transaction details, and constituent reports if you want to report on constituent details with some transaction information.
In a transaction report, you can report on raised or revenue amounts by filtering for type (such as donation, pledge, etc.), or for raised amount or revenue amount, and then entering a range. Filtering by type gives you more control to find specific transactions, while filtering with raised amount or revenue amount can behave like shortcuts and display all transactions that fall into the categories raised or revenue.
By default, transaction reports include a column for amount. Amount includes all transactions regardless of type. You can add raised amount or revenue amount to the report in addition.
If raised is a larger amount than revenue, the constituent most likely has an open pledge, because pledges and pledge payments are the main determining transaction types.
Important: Amount can include both raised amounts and revenue amounts if they exist, which can inflate totals depending on how you are doing your reporting.
When to Report on Raised or Revenue Amounts
Raised amounts are useful when you are looking to forecast or view projected revenue. For details, read Report on Projected Revenue for details. Bloomerang CRM has a Projected Cash Flow report template that you can use as a starting point.
If you want to look at actual dollars that have been received, for example, at the end of a campaign or as a result of an appeal, use revenue amounts.
You can also compare raised and revenue amounts within the same report to gain an understanding of how successful fundraising efforts have been.
