Bloomerang CRM supports many payment methods. Your donors can use their favorite payment method to donate securely.
Available Payment Methods
When you create a new one-time donation, these payment methods are available:
Saved Payment (credit card, EFT, Apple Pay, and Google Pay)
Cash
Check
Credit card
Electronic funds transfer (EFT)
In kind
Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or Venmo (processed outside of Bloomerang CRM)
When you create a new recurring donation, pledge payment, or membership payment, these automatic processing payment methods are available:
Saved Payment
None
Credit card
Electronic funds transfer (EFT)
Saved Payment
The Saved Payment option appears if the constituent account has a saved card, EFT, or digital wallet (Apple Pay or Google Pay only). Digital wallets appear that the constituent previously used for a recurring donation on your online giving form.
Cash
For cash donations or payments, select Cash as the method.
Check
For donations or payments by check, select Check as the method. The Check Number and Check Date are optional.
Credit Card
For donations or payments made by credit or debit card, select Credit Card as the method.
Cards can be used to automatically process payments for recurring donations, membership, and pledges.
See Process Credit Cards & EFT in Bloomerang CRM for details about recording donations that were processed outside of Bloomerang CRM and how to process credit or debit card donations in Bloomerang CRM.
Note: Bloomerang CRM does not store the credit card number. Instead, it stores a token that represents the card.
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
For donations or payments made by electronic funds transfer, select EFT as the method.
EFT can be used to automatically process payments for recurring donations, membership, and pledges.
See Process Credit Cards & EFT in Bloomerang CRM for details on recording EFT donations that were processed outside of Bloomerang CRM and how to process EFT donations in Bloomerang CRM.
In Kind
If the donor has made a gift of goods or services rather than money, select In Kind as the method.
We recommend entering $0.00 in the Amount field and recording the estimated value for the gift in the Fair Market Value field. This prevents the estimated value as being counted or receipted as actual dollars. See Enter In Kind Donations for more details.
Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo (Processed Outside of Bloomerang CRM)
If you receive donation payments processed in Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or Venmo, you can manually enter these donations in Bloomerang CRM. You might do this to have an accurate historical record of donations processed outside of Bloomerang CRM.
When you add the donation, select Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, or Venmo from the Method list.
None
When creating schedules for recurring donations, memberships, or pledges, select the None payment method to prevent automatic payments from being created for the payment schedule. If you select None, the donor is not automatically charged, and each payment must be created individually.
Transaction Description on Bank Statements
Donors see your organization’s name on their bank statements for ACH, EFT, and credit card transactions.
For credit card transactions processed through Bloomerang Payments, donors see "NPO" followed by your organization's name, your organization's location or website, and your organization's phone number. "NPO" means "nonprofit organization." If transactions don't show this information correctly, make sure to update the business information in your Stripe account. If your Stripe account doesn't have your location or phone number, Bloomerang's location and phone number appear instead.
