Enter In-Kind Donations

Updated this week

In-kind donations are gifts of goods or services. Some examples of in-kind gifts include:

  • An IT company donates refurbished computers and peripherals to an organization (goods).

  • An attorney provides her service to write a legal document (services).

Enter an In-Kind Donation

In-kind donations are entered the same as regular donations, with these changes:

  1. Enter 0 in the Amount field. This prevents in-kind donations from being counted as actual dollars.

  2. In the Method section, click In Kind.

  3. Enter the estimated value for the good or service in the Fair Market Value field.

Report on In-Kind Donations

Exclude in-kind donations from reports if you want to see only monetary donations. In the Exclude filter section, search for and select Method, and then choose In Kind.

To view in-kind data in your transaction report, add in-kind columns.
