Bloomerang Volunteer organizations are sibling organizations when they are connected to the same Bloomerang CRM. This platform connection setup is a one-to-many setup, in which one Bloomerang CRM syncs and connects with multiple Bloomerang Volunteer organizations.
For example, a nonprofit has one shared constituent system (Bloomerang CRM), but it wants separate Bloomerang Volunteer organizations for each of its three chapters so it can track each chapter’s volunteers, schedules, and events. The nonprofit creates three Bloomerang Volunteer organizations and connects all of them to the same Bloomerang CRM database.
How It Works
In a one-to-many connection, the way data syncs and which system takes priority works differently than in a one-to-one connection, and some settings might be fixed to make sure your information stays organized.
When two or more Bloomerang Volunteer organizations are connected to the same Bloomerang CRM, the following applies:
Sibling Organizations view. On the Platform Settings page, a Sibling Organizations section appears where you can see all the organizations connected to the same Bloomerang CRM.
Priority System. For sibling organizations, Bloomerang Volunteer defaults as the priority system during syncs. In this case, the priority system is fixed and can’t be edited. For more information about the priority system, read Sync Volunteer Data with Bloomerang CRM.
Manage Sibling Organizations
To manage one-to-many platform connections:
If you are in more than one organization, make sure you are in the right one.
In the main navigation bar, select Your Giving Platform
. Select Platform Settings.
Click Sibling Organizations. All connected sibling organizations appear.
Click a sibling organization to open the Platform Settings page for that organization.
Note: You can only click and open a sibling organization’s settings if you have permission to access that organization.
