After you enable the QuickBooks to Bloomerang CRM integration, QuickBooks Online sales receipts sync to Bloomerang CRM as donations.
This article explains how to troubleshoot sync issues.
In this article:
Sales Receipts Don’t Sync to Bloomerang CRM
If some or all sales receipts don’t sync from QuickBooks Online to Bloomerang CRM, follow the steps in this section.
Keep in mind the following:
Multi-line sales receipts do not sync from QuickBooks Online.
Refunds do not sync from QuickBooks Online.
QuickBooks Online sales receipts sync to Bloomerang CRM as donations. They do not sync to Bloomerang CRM as pledges and pledge payments, recurring donation payments, or membership payments.
Review the Sync Status
In Bloomerang CRM, select Settings and then Integrations. Click Integrated Partners, then Settings. In the QuickBooks to Bloomerang CRM section, review the sync status:
If the status is Sync Paused, click Manage Sync and turn the sync back on. While the sync is paused, sales receipts don’t sync.
If you created a new sales receipt in QuickBooks Online while the sync was paused, edit the sales receipt in QuickBooks Online. During the next sync, the sales receipt will sync to Bloomerang CRM as a donation.
If the sync status is Connection Error, an unexpected connection issue happened. Bloomerang CRM continues to actively monitor your QuickBooks account for changes if QuickBooks Online continues to send data to Bloomerang CRM.
Review Sync Settings
Next, review the QuickBooks to Bloomerang CRM settings in Bloomerang CRM:
Make sure the correct QuickBooks fundraising accounts are selected. Bloomerang CRM pays attention to only the QuickBooks accounts that you select.
Review Mapping Rules
Finally, review each QuickBooks to Bloomerang CRM mapping rule:
Make sure the sales receipts you want to sync match a mapping rule. If a sales receipt doesn’t match any mapping rules, it doesn’t sync to Bloomerang CRM.
Keep in mind that if you delete a mapping rule, a Bloomerang CRM donation created by that rule updates based on which remaining rule it matches. If the donation no longer matches any rules, it doesn’t update.
Unexpected Sales Receipts Sync to Bloomerang CRM
If sales receipts sync from QuickBooks Online that you didn’t expect to sync, follow the steps in this section.
Only QuickBooks Online sales receipts that match a mapping rule sync to Bloomerang CRM. In Bloomerang CRM, review the mapping rules in your QuickBooks to Bloomerang CRM configuration. In each mapping rule, review these settings:
Fundraising account
Service Item — If All Service Items is selected, all service items and sales receipts associated with the selected fundraising account sync to Bloomerang CRM. You can change this selection to only one service item.
Class
Location
You can edit or delete rules. To prevent a subset of sales receipts from syncing that otherwise would sync, add a new mapping rule for those receipts and select Do Not Sync.
Sales Receipts Sync to the Wrong Bloomerang CRM Fund, Campaign, or Appeal
If you have multiple mapping rules in Bloomerang CRM, review the order in which rules appear. Mapping rules are applied in order from first to last. This means a sales receipt syncs using the first rule it matches and not with any other rules.
Make sure that rules with more specific settings appear before rules with less specific settings. For example, you have two rules. In the first rule, QuickBooks sales receipts associated with Service Item 1 map to Fund 1 in Bloomerang CRM. In the second rule, QuickBooks sales receipts associated with Service Item 1 and Class 1 map to Fund 2 in Bloomerang CRM. The second rule is more specific, so move it ahead of the first rule.
To reorder rules, click the up or down arrows.
Constituents Sync to Bloomerang CRM as Organizations Instead of Individuals
First and last name are required for constituent accounts in Bloomerang CRM, but not for customer accounts in QuickBooks Online.
If you sync a sales receipt tied to a QuickBooks customer without a first or last name:
Bloomerang CRM creates an organization-type constituent.
The QuickBooks Display Name is used as the organization name.
