On May 25, 2018, data privacy laws for the European Union (EU) were updated. With this update comes the requirement for all companies to receive explicit permission from EU residents to contact them via email, postal mail, or phone.
In order to help you toward compliance with the GDPR:
When an EU address is entered on an online form, an opt-in checkbox is displayed. Constituents may update their preferences each time a form is submitted.
Email sign-up forms contain clear messaging that constituents will be contacted at this email address.
All confirmation emails have a link to the manage email preferences page, where constituents may opt in to all, some, or none of the email interests.
In a constituent's Communication Preferences, when a user edits the communication restrictions or email interests, they must enter a reason.
