This article introduces you to Express Donate for year-round, peer-to-peer, and auction donation forms.

Why Use Express Donate?
Express Donate is a feature that provides more opportunity to simplify the giving process and makes it possible for donors to use a “digital wallet” (Apple Pay, PayPal, or Venmo) as the first step of the donation process. As a result, donors can bypass the additional form fields and can give in just a few clicks!
Please note: The Venmo button will not appear for Express Donate on iOS devices because of a technical issue on PayPal’s side.
Enabling Express Donate
Donation Forms
In your donation form’s control panel, navigate to the Donations area of Form Settings.
On the Settings tab, turn on the Enable Express Donate toggle.
Peer-to-Peer
In your peer-to-peer form’s control panel, navigate to the Donations area of Donation Setup.
On the Settings tab, turn on the Enable Express Donate toggle.
Auctions
Please note: Express Donate is not compatible with auction registrations, and we are in the process of resolving an issue related to this incompatibility. We recommend that you do not enable Express Donate for your auction until the issue is resolved. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]. We apologize for the inconvenience.
In your auction form’s control panel, navigate to the Donations area of My Auction.
On the Settings tab, turn on the Enable Express Donate toggle.
Requirements
To enable Express Donate, your organization must have:
Giving Essentials/Giving+ package (for year-round forms)
At least one express payment method enabled:
A multistep donation form
No required Legal field
Please note: Fields (including those that are normally required) will not be displayed until the Confirmation page, where donors can optionally submit a response.
If you have at least one unmet requirement, you’ll see an accordion icon that, when expanded, will display a checklist specific to your organization/form that details which requirements you’ll have to meet.
The toggle to turn on Express Donate will be disabled until all requirements are met. As you can see from the image below, you’ll be linked to more information depending on the specific requirement that needs to be met to enable the feature.

What Donors See
Donation Forms/Auctions
Peer-to-Peer
Once they select the initial “Choose Your Gift” step, donors will have the option to choose their donation frequency and amount, select an express payment method—either Apple Pay, Venmo, or PayPal—and submit their donation.
If you have any of the following fields on your form, they will appear on the Confirmation page after the receipt, in the order they would normally display on the donation form:
Don’t share my name publicly (System Field)
Phone (System Field)
I would like to get news and updates from {OrgNameHere}! (System Field)
Employer (System Field
You can edit the Heading of this area and the Send button text on the Confirmation step in Form Builder, Campaign Builder, or Event Builder.
If you’ve enabled matching gifts on the form, the matching gifts widget will also appear on this page.
Reporting
What Donor Information Will My Organization Receive?
You’ll receive the following information from donors that pay via a digital wallet (Apple Pay, Venmo, and/or PayPal) when Express Donate is enabled:
First Name
Last Name
Email
Mailing Address data that includes:
Address
City
State
Zip
Country
Billing Address data that includes:
Address
City
State
Zip
Country
How Do Express Donate Transactions Appear in Reports?
In Batches and Settlements, Venmo and PayPal transactions will show up in the Unfunded column as PayPal transactions. (Remember, all PayPal transactions are still handled through your PayPal account.)
However, when viewing transactions, you'll notice under Transaction Details that Venmo transactions display as PayPal via Venmo.
Relatedly, Apple Pay transactions in Batches and Settlements will show up in the Unfunded column as Visa transactions.
