Use the Find Constituents filter to search for and filter by specific accounts. This filter is useful when you want to include certain constituents who don't share a common criterion. For example, you might need to copy certain board members or staff on an email even though they don't meet the other filter criteria. You can select as many constituents as you need within a single filter.
Filter for Constituents
Search for individuals, organizations, or households. You must type in at least three characters before a search result is listed.
To filter for specific constituents in a report:
Click Add Filter.
Search for and select Find Constituents.
Enter a constituent or household’s name. Possible matches appear. Households are indicated by a house icon.
Select the constituent. To avoid duplicates, if you select a constituent or household, it no longer appears in the results.
Search for and add more constituents.
Click Apply.
Running the report to household will list households where any member is included in the filter. Constituents not in a household are listed individually.
Show Household Members
When filtering by household and the report is not run to households, the report shows all members of a household.
To filter for a specific household and show all household members:
Click Add Filter.
Search for and select Find Constituents.
Search for and select the household.
Click Apply.
Filters with Deleted or Merged Constituents
Sometimes we filter for constituents that are then deleted or merged.
If an account is being used in a filter and that constituent is merged into another account, the filter will show the account that was kept from the merge.
If an account is being used in a filter and that constituent is deleted, the filter shows Deleted Account instead of the constituent’s name.
If all accounts used in a filter are deleted, the filter shows Constituent is a value that does not exist, and returns zero results.
