About Auction Messaging

This article explains the difference between notifications and email campaigns in Bloomerang Fundraising and links you to more detailed articles on configuring each type of message.

You can send a custom message to your auction attendees. When you create a new message, you choose whether to send a notification or an email campaign.

About Auction Notifications

Notifications are short, custom messages you send to auction attendees through email, text, or the Givi app. Notifications have a 160-character limit.

Notifications are great for sending quick reminders, particularly during your event when attendees are more likely to engage with the Givi app. Notifications are sent only to auction registrants who opted in to receive them by email, text, and/or Givi.

To send text notifications, you must enable the Text Fundraising package for your organization. Organization administrators can add and remove packages on the Plans and Pricing page. If you have questions about your plan, or your plan does not support self-service package upgrades, email [email protected].

For information about how to send notifications, read [Auctions] Attendee Notifications.

Note: You can't add images to emails or texts in auction notifications.

About Auction Email Campaigns

Use email campaigns to send longer, more detailed messages to any ticketed attendee who provided an email address. For example, use email campaigns for event information and reminders to update ticket information. Email campaigns have no character limit.

Unlike notifications, email campaigns aren't restricted by attendees' notification preferences. This means email campaigns are sent to any recipient with an email address who meets the recipient criteria that you select when you create your message.

Email campaigns have more robust options for formatting content. You can use the Fundraising Content Assistant, an AI-powered tool that can help you draft your messages.

You can send email campaigns immediately or schedule them.

To information about how to set up an email campaign, read Auctions: [Email Campaigns].

Note: You can't add images to emails or texts in auction email campaigns.
