Refund or Delete Donations

To undo a donation, you can refund or delete it. Credit card transactions can be refunded but not deleted.

If you refund a donation:

  • The original transaction remains on the constituent's timeline.

  • A refunded transaction appears on the constituent's timeline.

  • Bloomerang CRM doesn't send a refund receipt to the donor.

If you delete a donation:

  • The original transaction is removed from the constituent's timeline.

  • Bloomerang CRM doesn't send a deletion receipt to the donor.

Note: If you sync sales receipts from QuickBooks Online, when you delete a sales receipt in QuickBooks, Bloomerang CRM deletes the associated donation when you next sync.

Refund Payments

Warning: If you refund credit card, EFT, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo transactions processed through Bloomerang CRM, Bloomerang CRM refunds the full amount of the donation.

To refund a payment:

  1. Go to the constituent's account.

  2. Click Timeline.

  3. Click the donation entry.

  4. Select Actions.

  5. Click Refund.

  6. (Optional) Enter a reason for the refund.

  7. Click Update. A refund transaction appears on the constituent's timeline.

Delete Payments

To delete a payment:

  1. Go to the constituent's account.

  2. Click Timeline.

  3. Click the donation entry.

  4. Remove any attachments.

  5. Click Actions.

  6. Select Delete.

  7. Click Yes.
