Refund or Delete Donations

To undo a donation, refund or delete it. Refunding a donation keeps a record of the original donation and adds a refunded transaction to the constituent's timeline. Deleting a donation erases the donation record. Credit card transactions can be refunded but not deleted.

Note: If you sync sales receipts from QuickBooks Online, when you delete a sales receipt in QuickBooks, Bloomerang CRM deletes the associated donation when you next sync.

Refund Payments

To refund a payment:

  1. Go to the constituent's timeline.

  2. Click the donation entry.

  3. Select Actions.

  4. Click Refund.

    Warning: Refunding credit card, EFT, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, and Venmo transactions processed through Bloomerang CRM refunds the full amount of the gift.

  5. (Optional) Enter a reason for the refund.

  6. Click Update.

Delete Payments

To delete a payment:

  1. Go to the constituent's timeline.

  2. Click the donation entry.

  3. Remove any attachments.

  4. Click Actions.

  5. Select Delete.

  6. Click Yes.
