Inactive is an Account Status that your organization determines. Bloomerang recommends that you use it aggressively to mark the records of constituents who have not given in a few years or that you no longer want to spend your resources cultivating.
A constituent marked as Inactive maintains all of their information, but excludes them from costly mass-mailings by way of an exclude filter in reports, emails, and letters.
To mark a constituent Inactive, open their record and follow these steps:
Click the Profile tab.
Click the Edit button in the upper right.
Click the drop down menu under Status.
Select Inactive, and then click Save.
Use the same steps to reverse the process in the future if you determine the constituent should be considered Active.
