Insert Website Tracking Snippet into Wordpress

Updated this week

To benefit from the Website Tracking feature, you must insert the Website Tracking code snippet into your website header. Use a plugin to make this easier.

This article explains how to copy the code snippet from Bloomerang CRM and paste it to a Wordpress.org plugin. Wordpress.org sites are self-hosted, which means you pay Wordpress.org to store your website. These instructions do not apply to free WordPress.com websites.

If you use a content management system other than WordPress.org, follow the instructions provided by that content management system.

Get Snippet

To get the Website Tracking code snippet:

  1. In Bloomerang CRM, click Settings.

  2. Click Website Tracking.

  3. Copy the snippet.

Choose a Plugin

Plugins are small programs that add functionality to a larger program. In this case, a plugin inserts the snippet into your website header for you. First, you need to select a plugin to use.

To select and edit a Wordpress.org plugin:

  1. In WordPress.org, select Plugins > Add New.
    The Add Plugins page appears.

  2. In the Search Plugins box, enter script header.

  3. Select a plugin that inserts scripts into headers and is compatible with your theme and WordPress version.

  4. Click the plugin's Install Now button to install the plugin to WordPress.

  5. Select Plugins > Installed Plugins and open the plugin.

  6. Paste the snippet into the plugin and save.

After you insert the Website Tracking code snippet on your site, you can track online engagement.
