Add Hours Worked to a Message

Add hours worked to a message in Bloomerang Volunteer.

You can add four different types of “hours worked” to an email message:

  • Lifetime Hours across the Organization

  • Custom Range of Hours for the Organization

  • Total Hours in an Opportunity

  • Custom Range of Hours for an Opportunity

To add hours worked to a message:

  1. If you are in more than one organization, make sure you are in the right one.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To open a volunteer’s organization profile, click People from the side menu, and then click Volunteers.

    • To open a volunteer’s opportunity profile:

      • Click Opportunities.

      • Select an opportunity, or use the search box to find and select an opportunity.

      • In the opportunity menu, click People, and then click Volunteers.

  3. In the Volunteer List, select one or more recipients.

  4. Click Take Action Take Action checkbox icon..

  5. Hover over Send, then click Message.

  6. On the Send Message to Selected Volunteers page, place your cursor where you would like to insert the number of hours worked.

  7. Click Personalize.

  8. Click the drop-down menu, then select Total Hours Worked.

  9. Select the type of information to insert.

    • If you select Lifetime Hours (Across Organization), the hours information is immediately inserted at the cursor.

    • If you select Hours Custom Range (Across Organization):

      1. From the drop-down menu, select a time range.

      2. (Optional) To display hours worked for one or more opportunities, instead of for all opportunities, enable the Inserting Hours Worked across all Opportunities option. Select one or more opportunities from the list, then click Insert.

    • If you select Total Hours (In Opportunity), select one or more opportunities from the list, then click Insert.

    • If you select Hours Custom Range (In Opportunity):

      1. Select a date range.

      2. Click Insert.

      3. Select one or more opportunities from the list, then click Insert.

  10. Customize the email as needed. Note that the information about hours worked displays as the number of hours followed by the word “hour” or “hours”.

  11. (Optional) Before sending the email, click Preview to see what the email will look like to a specific volunteer on desktop, tablet, or mobile phone.

  12. (Optional) Click Send Test to send a test email to yourself.

  13. (Optional) Click Save as New to save the email as a new template so that you can reuse it across opportunities or at the organization level.

  14. To send the message, click Send Now.​
