Using List View

List View is a specific type of view that appears throughout Bloomerang Volunteer. List View displays data in rows and columns, to show a deep level of data in a single snapshot. With List View, organization, opportunity, and role managers can search, organize, sort, and customize data.

Note: Your organization's volunteer list, the Volunteers page, works differently than other List View pages. The next sections in this article describe where the Volunteers page differs.

About List View

List View offers several advantages over simple tables. In List View, you can:

  • View data full screen.

  • Select which columns appear.

  • Rearrange columns.

  • Sort rows.

For example, List View is available on an opportunity's Schedule page, in addition to Calendar View. Here, the views show shift data.

Other pages in Bloomerang Volunteer that use List View include:

  • Your organization’s volunteer list

  • An opportunity’s volunteer list

  • Opportunity schedule

Note: The Central Schedule and opportunity list do not use List View.

Customize List View

  • To show or hide columns, click the columns icon . Select the checkbox next to a column name to show that column, or clear the checkbox to hide it.

Tip: To send selected items to the top of the List View, sort the list by the checkbox column.

  • To adjust the width of a column, click and drag the edge of the column.

  • To sort the data by a column, click the up and down arrows in the column header.

  • To filter the data, click Show Filters and select a filter. To clear a filter, click it again and then click Clear.

  • To move a column left or right in the List View, click the handle and drag the column.

Note: On the organization-level Volunteers page, you have more ways to manage columns. Besides dragging, you can pin, hide, and expand columns from a menu on each column header, and you can show, hide, and reorder columns from a Show/Hide Columns panel. For steps, read Manage Columns on the Volunteers List.

Take Action on Items in a List View

To take action on one or more items from a List View:

  1. Select the checkbox next to each item you want to take an action on.

  2. Click Take Action.

    • The Take Action button for most list views is an icon:

Take Action icon on a list, with a count of the number of list items selected.
    • On the organization-level Volunteers list, the button says Take Action:

Take Action button on the organization-level Volunteers list, showing the number of volunteers selected.
  3. Select an item from the list of possible actions.

Note: Each List View page has a different set of possible actions.
