After you close a form, auction, or peer-to-peer campaign, some of your supporters might still try to view that page. This can happen when supporters click an old link from an email, website page, browser bookmark, mailer, or QR code.
As a best practice, redirect those supporters to a useful page, such as your current giving form, homepage, next campaign, or a thank-you page. A redirect makes sure your supporters always have a seamless path to support your mission.
You can redirect people who view these types of closed forms:
Standard donation forms
Auction forms
Peer-to-peer forms
Note: You can’t set up a redirect for event registration forms.
How It Works
In the settings for your donation form, auction, or peer-to-peer campaign, you enter the URL (the link) you want visitors to view.
After you set that up:
When a supporter visits a closed form, they’re automatically redirected to the URL you entered. They never see the closed form.
For standard donation forms, the redirect takes effect only when the form is closed. When your form is open and accepting donations, the redirect has no effect.
For auctions, the redirect takes effect only when the auction is closed, ended, or both, depending on the settings you select. Otherwise, the redirect has no effect.
For peer-to-peer campaigns, the redirect takes effect only when the campaign is closed, ended, or both, depending on the settings you select. Otherwise, the redirect has no effect.
If you embedded the form on another web page, that page keeps its closed message instead of redirecting, because the redirect applies to the form's own web address.
