Bloomerang Fundraising App: Creating Temporary Log-in Codes

Updated over 2 weeks ago

To log in to the Bloomerang Fundraising app, you can use the same username and password you use to log in to Bloomerang Fundraising on the web.

If you’re hosting an event and have volunteers using the Virtual Terminal app, you can generate temporary access codes they can use to log in instead of assigning Bloomerang Fundraising usernames and passwords to everyone. The code is only valid for one log-in session, so you’ll need to generate a new code for each volunteer or if someone logs out of the app and needs to log back in.

Pro tip: If you create a few extra temporary access codes ahead of time, you can keep them on hand in case a volunteer accidentally logs out of the app and needs to log back in.

Please note: If you're concerned about volunteers logging out and not being able to reuse a temporary access code, you can add volunteers as users on your Bloomerang Fundraising account. We recommend you limit their access only to specific forms and remove access once your event has ended. Check out this article to learn more about users and permissions.

To generate a temporary access code, click API Access in the Data Tools menu in your left-hand navigation.

Click the Create API Token button.

Choose Temporary from the options that appear.

Enter a name for your token.

In the Associated Forms field, select the form(s) to which you’d like the token to apply.

Click Add New Token to generate your token and to be taken back to the main listing of tokens. The temporary log-in code will appear under the name of your token. Be sure to record it in a safe place.

Logging in with the code is easy. On the app log-in screen, tap Access Key and enter the temporary code.
