Custom Reports

Note: Custom reports are included in the Giving Essentials and Giving+ packages. Please contact the Customer Experience team at [email protected] to learn more or add a package.

Use custom reports to save a report’s search and filter settings so you can rerun the same report later.

Create and manage a custom report

  1. In Bloomerang Fundraising, click Reporting.

  2. Open one of the following reports:

    • Transactions (Details and Summary reports)

    • Recurring Payments

    • Export History

    • Matching Gifts

    • Registrations

    • Donations

    • Peer-to-Peer Participants

    • Peer-to-Peer Donations

    • Peer-to-Peer Teams

    • Peer-to-Peer Badges

    • Peer-to-Peer Store

    • Peer-to-Peer Inventory

    • Auction Attendees

    • Auction Inventory

    • Auction Bidding Activity

    • Auction Purchased Items

    • Auction Registrations

    • Auction Donations

    • Mobile Messages

    • Text-to-Donate

  3. Set up the report the way you want to reuse it:

    • Enter search terms (such as a donor name or transaction ID).

    • Select Advanced Filtering, then apply the filters you want.

    • Set the Range (time period) that you want the report to use.

  4. Click Save as Custom Report.

  5. On the Report Builder page, set up the custom report’s information.

    • To change the custom report’s name, click Edit next to the report’s name.

    • To change the custom report’s description, click Edit next to the report description.

  6. The list of columns shows the columns that appear in your custom report.

    • To edit a column’s name, click it.

    • To move a column up or down in the list, click and drag on the column’s handle .

    • To move a column to the top or bottom of the list, click either Move to Bottom or Move to Top .

    • To choose how the custom report is sorted, click Sort Order in a column entry. The report will be sorted by the column you choose. Click Sort Order again to switch between ascending or descending order.

    • To hide a column, click Hide Field . To show the column again, click Show Field . Note that some required columns cannot be hidden.

  7. (Optional) To add a new column, click Add a Field.

    1. Click one of the drop-down lists to select an existing standard field, custom, field, or consolidated field. Repeat this step to select multiple fields. To remove a field, click the X next to it.

    2. To create a new custom column, click Add a custom column. The new column appears at the top of the columns list. To set the default value for cells in this column, enter text in the custom column’s text box.

    3. (Optional) Select Add fields to bottom of report to insert the field at the bottom of the columns list.

    4. Click Add.

  8. Select Save.

To run the custom report later:

  1. In Bloomerang Fundraising, hover over Reporting, then click Custom Reports.

  2. Click Run next to the report that you want to generate.

  3. Select a date range for the report.

  4. Click a file format to download the report.

To manage custom reports, use the options in the Custom Reports list to Clone, Edit, and Delete a report.
