Updated over 2 weeks ago

This document contains a summary of the major changes and new features available with our new donation forms for peer-to-peer campaigns, along with screenshots, links to other help center articles, and directions on where to go in the control panel to start adjusting settings.

Here’s a list of some of the changes and new features:

Redesigned donation form that aligns with the year-round form

The biggest change your donors will see with the Peer-to-Peer Donations Redesign is a brand new donation form that aligns with the standard year-round form. The new donation form offers a modern, simple aesthetic and is optimized for mobile in a major way (without sacrificing desktop performance!).

Multistep donation experience

By breaking the donation process into multiple, bite-sized steps, you lessen the cognitive load for your donors, making giving a more positive experience.

And because donors make the choice to give on the first step, the likelihood of completing a donation is higher!

Unique peer-to-peer donation form features

A streamlined, distraction-free modal

When supporters click the Donate button, a donation modal will appear on their screen to keep their focus on giving.

An updated donation recipient interface

With a more prominent section of the form asking donors, “Whose fundraising efforts would you like to support,” crediting a donation to the correct participant has never been simpler!

Donors can easily search for a fundraising participant or team, or they can choose to donate to the overall campaign.

A recipient thermometer during donation that shows the impact of the gift

When donors select a participant to whom to credit their gift, they’ll see a thermometer that shows the impact of the gift on the recipient fundraising goal.

Both the thermometer and the goal completion animation can be hidden within Campaign Builder if they don’t fit the needs of your campaign.

Updated privacy options so donors are clear on who can see their information

Based on your Fundraising Settings, participants might be able to see anonymous donor information, so we’ve made sure that visibility is clear to donors.

Optional recurring features to encourage ongoing gifts

Recurring nudge and Recurring upgrade

If you use the year-round donation form, you’ll recognize the Recurring nudge and Recurring upgrade options that prompt donors to turn their one-time gifts into ongoing gifts.

The nudge is a subtle message on the Choose Gift step of the donation form.

The upgrade prompt is the final step of the donation process. Donors can be asked if they’d like to forego their original one-time donation in favor of a smaller recurring one.

Both options can be enabled or disabled in the Donation settings.

Recurring impact statement

You can also customize an impact statement to the Ongoing tab of the Choose Gift step to show donors how an ongoing donation will support your organization.

Unique amounts for one-time vs. recurring gifts

You can display different donation amounts for one-time and recurring gifts. This might be useful if you’d like to tailor your donation amounts to a specific campaign or offer smaller gift options for recurring gifts to encourage donors to give more over time.

Preselected donation amounts and Smart Amounts to drive donors to specific gifts

Preselected donation amounts

In the Donation Settings, you can decide if an amount should be preselected on the form when donors open the donation modal. That way, you can subtly drive donors to specific gifts.

Smart Amounts

When enabled, Smart Amounts will automatically generate dynamic donation amounts presented to visitors on your form, using a unique algorithm that incorporates visitor data and historical giving trends across the platform.

Abandoned Gift Reminders to increase donation conversions

When enabled, Abandoned Gift Reminders will display on your campaign’s site to encourage donors to return to your donation form and complete their gifts. If the donor had previously chosen a fundraising recipient, both the recipient and the donation amount will be pre-filled when they return to the form to make completing the gift easy!

You can also enable Email Reminders, which will prompt donors to share their email address to receive up to three reminders to complete their gift.

Increased flexibility to create and customize donation fields

Separate donation and registration fields

Donation and registration fields have been moved into their own sections to keep different field types better organized.

New field customization options for donations forms

Donation form fields now include many of the customization options that you can use for year-round donation forms, including new custom field types, the ability to customize field order, and the power to organize fields into groups.

Conditional logic for custom donation fields

As with year-round donation forms, custom peer-to-peer donation fields also support conditional logic, so you can display only the fields you need, when you need them.

Customizable system and billing fields

You can now edit system and billing fields for donations—including peer-to-peer-specific fields, such as Privacy Options and Donation Message—giving you more control of which fields to display to donors and how to display them.

An enhanced Text-to-Donate system that mirrors the year-round version

Control your keywords in the peer-to-peer control panel

With this update to Text Giving, you can set up and manage your text keywords right in the form and have up to 10 keywords per peer-to-peer campaign.

Require an amount and/or set dates

You can also require donors to include a donation amount when they text a keyword, and you can set start and end dates for each keyword.

Empower participants to use text fundraising

Plus, participants and teams will be automatically assigned their own unique keywords (which they can edit if they want!).

Please note: To support these enhanced features, Text-to-Donate for Peer-to-Peer will require either the Text Fundraising package or the Giving+ package in addition to the Peer-to-Peer package.

Express Donate and Donor Accounts to make giving easier for donors

Express Donate

Allow donors to give with just a few clicks using a digital wallet (Apple Pay, PayPal, or Venmo). It’s so easy that we’ve seen twice as many conversions on forms that are using Express Donate!

Donor Accounts

When enabled, donors can set up accounts to manage their recurring gifts and view all their gifts in one place.

Donor accounts also make giving quicker because donor information is auto-filled into the donation form for users with an account. And if they don’t have an account, they can sign up while making a donation!

Support for associated info tracking

Associated info tracking offers the ability to add a unique tracking code, similar to a UTM code, to the record for each transaction, allowing you to track custom data for your peer-to-peer donations.
