Web Auctions Redesign: What's Changed and Why

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This document contains a summary of the major changes and new features available with the new web auction experience for bidders.

Here’s a list of some of the changes and new features:

New registration experience that aligns with standard event forms

The updated experience reflects the look and feel of standard event forms. The multistep process breaks up registration into smaller pieces, reducing decision fatigue for attendees.

Email check for existing tickets prior to registration to avoid duplicate sign-ups

Before beginning registration, the system will check whether the attendee is already registered for the auction and prompt them to log in if they are.

Attendees will still be able to purchase additional tickets if they need to!

Log in with One-Time Passcode

Entering an auction to begin bidding is now easier with one-time passcode login. If attendees have a phone number on file, they can choose to have the code texted or emailed to them.

Cleaner item card design and layouts that align with the Givi app

Item cards look more like they do in the Givi app, standardizing the bidding experience, regardless of platform.

Smoother item details navigation with a back button takes users to same scroll position

After a bidder clicks into an item card, they’ll see a “Back” button, which will return them to their previous browsing position to make navigating the auction easier.

Option for attendees to “watch” items they’re interested in

Web bidders can now watch items they’d like to keep an eye on, just like they can in the Givi app.
