Combine roles settings and shift settings to customize shift visibility and have more control over the registration and scheduling processes.
Below are the possible combinations of Role and Shift settings:
Public Role & Public Shifts. The Role and all associated Shifts are available for all Qualified Volunteers to select if enabled in the Self-Signup Settings.
Private Role & Private Shifts. The Role and all associated Shifts are not available for Volunteers to select. An Opportunity Manager and/or Role Manager will need to add Volunteers to the Role and Shifts.
Private Role & Public Shifts. An Opportunity Manager must appoint the Role to Volunteers, but once appointed, Volunteers are able to select Public Shifts if enabled in the Self-Signup Settings.
Public Role & Private Shifts. The Role is available for all Qualified Volunteers to select if enabled in the Self-Signup Settings, but Private Shifts must be appointed by the Opportunity Manager and/or Role Manager.
Edit Settings for Roles
If you are in more than one organization, make sure you are in the right one.
From the navigation menu, click Opportunities.
Select an opportunity, or use the search box to find and select an opportunity.
In the opportunity menu, click Schedule, and then click Roles.
Select the role you want to edit.
Click Take Action, and then click Edit Details.
Locate Signup Visibility and click the drop-down list, and then select Public or Private.
Click Save.
Edit Settings for Shifts
If you are in more than one organization, make sure you are in the right one.
From the navigation menu, click Opportunities.
Select an opportunity, or use the search box to find and select an opportunity.
In the opportunity menu, click Schedule, and then click Shifts.
Select the checkboxes for the shifts you want to edit.
Click Take Action.
Hover over Bulk Change Settings, and then click Signup Visibility & Waitlist Behavior.
Select one of the visibility options, and then click Save.
