When you import data into Bloomerang CRM, certain columns are required to bring the information into the system. The columns required vary depending on the type of information you are importing.
Import New Constituents and Organizations
If you are importing new Constituent data for Individuals, the following fields are required:
First Name, Last Name
(Please note that first and last name alone are not enough for Bloomerang CRM to match on. If you wish to import more info to a constituent with only name information in the profile, you need to include the account number in your file.)
If you are importing new Constituent data for Organizations, the following field is required:
Organization Name
(Please note that organization name alone is not enough for Bloomerang CRM to match on. If you wish to import more info to an organization with only name information in the profile, you need to include the account number in your file.)
You can also create new constituents when importing notes, donations, or interactions. The required fields for creating Individuals and Organizations still applies in addition to the required fields for the type of timeline entry you are importing.
Import Data for Existing Constituents and Organizations
If you wish to import data to constituents who are already in Bloomerang CRM, you need to include enough information in your file to match the data to the correct constituents.
Note: Separate Individual and Organization data into their own files and import them separately.
If you are importing data for Individuals, the matching info you need to include must be one of the following four options:
Account #
First Name + Last Name + Address
First Name + Last Name + Phone #
First Name + Last Name + Email Address
If you are importing data for Organizations, the matching info you need to include must be one of the following four options:
Account #
Organization Name + Address
Organization Name + Phone #
First Name + Last Name + Email Address
Note: First Name matches as an includes or tokenized match and allows "Micah & Liz Weaver", "Micah Weaver", "Liz Weaver", and "Micah and Liz Weaver" to match a joint account in Bloomerang CRM named "Micah & Liz Weaver" or "Micah and Liz Weaver"
If you are importing new Donations to constituent profiles, the following fields are required:
Date, Amount, Fund + One of the four matching options
If you are importing new Interactions to constituent profiles, the following fields are required:
Date, Subject, Purpose, Channel + One of the four matching options
If you are importing new Notes to constituent profiles, the following fields are required:
Date, Note + One of the four matching options
