About the Constituent Timeline

Updated this week

On the Timeline page, view all date-based activities associated with a constituent for each calendar year.

View Timeline Entries

The timeline includes:

  • All transactions

  • Interactions (including mass emails and volunteer activity)

  • Notes

  • Tasks

The timeline also highlights important milestones such as giving upgrades and donations multiple years in a row. These milestones show qualifying transactions, which include revenue transactions and soft credits on one-time donations.

To jump to a specific year, click the year from the list.

Filter the Timeline

To view specific types of timeline entries, click a filter. Filters are organized in two groups:

  • Transactions, interactions, tasks, and notes

  • Attachments

If you select multiple filters from one group, you see items that match any of those filters. For example, click Tasks and Notes to see all tasks and notes.

If you select filters from multiple groups, you see items that match all the filters you set. For example, click Tasks, Notes, and Attachments to see all tasks and notes that have attachments.

Click All to reset the filters.

View Timeline Entries as a List

To view a list of all timeline entries in a list form, including those before 2004, click List View. List view does not include filters or highlights.

Add Entries to the Timeline

To add entries to the timeline:

  1. Go to a constituent's profile.

  2. Click the down arrow.

  3. Select to add a new donation, pledge, recurring donation, membership, interaction, task, or note.

  4. Complete the fields and click Save.

An entry automatically appears on a constituent’s timeline in these cases:

  • The constituent makes a donation.

  • You refund or split a donation.

  • You send a mass mail.

  • You use Journey Automation, and an automation sends an email or assigns a task.

  • Bloomerang Volunteer syncs data to Bloomerang CRM that includes volunteer activity for the constituent. You cannot edit this type of volunteer activity interaction.

  • Bloomerang Fundraising (formerly Qgiv) exports donations or event registrations to Bloomerang CRM.
