Install Batch Entry with Google Sheets

Use the Batch Entry with Google Sheets as an optional add-on to push transactions to Bloomerang CRM. To use Batch Entry, you must have a Google account with access to Google Sheets, and you must install the Bloomerang CRM add-on in Google Sheets. Add-ons are customized extensions that can be added to apps like Google Sheets to extend their functionality.

Install the Batch Entry Add-on to Google Sheets

The Bloomerang CRM Batch Entry add-on must be installed in Google Sheets. First, log in to your Google Account, then access a new Google Sheet. In your sheet:

  1. Click Extensions, Add-ons, then Get add-ons.

  2. Click Search apps, then search Bloomerang CRM.

  3. Click the Bloomerang CRM add-on.

  4. Click Install and then Continue to allow Bloomerang CRM to be installed in your Google account.

  5. Select your Google account.

  6. Click Allow, then Done.

  7. Exit the Google Workspace Marketplace.

The add-on is now installed and available in Google Sheets. Next, you will make a connection between Google Sheets and Bloomerang CRM. In your sheet:

  1. Click Extensions.

  2. Navigate to Bloomerang and click Connect Bloomerang Account.

  3. Click Connect Account.

  4. Confirm that you are connecting the account you intend to connect to Bloomerang CRM and click Grant Access.

    Note: Getting an authentication error message during this step? Contact [email protected] to discuss purchasing a license.

  5. Close the tab and return to the sheet.

  6. Click Close once access has been granted.

After the connection is made, click Extensions in the sheet. Navigate to Bloomerang CRM and hover there to view the rest of the menu:

To start a batch:

  • Type a Batch

    • Reveals the Sidebar, the main workspace used while entering a batch of transactions.

    • Click this option when you intend to manually type in your gifts one at a time.

  • Paste a Batch

    • Reveals the Sidebar, the main workspace used while entering a batch of transactions.

    • Click this option when you intend to paste gifts from another file or sheet instead of typing them in one at a time.

Note: Before you start a batch, ensure that none of your transaction custom fields contain more than 500 active values. If any transaction custom field contains more than 500 active values, the Google Sheets Batch Entry add-on will not load.

Additional tools:

  • Refresh Lookup Values

    • Removes saved Bloomerang CRM data from the sheet.

    • Click Refresh Lookup Values and then rebuild the sheet if you make any changes in Bloomerang CRM while creating a batch.

  • Email Support

    • Click to raise a support ticket with Bloomerang Customer Support.

  • Sign out from Bloomerang CRM

    • Removes the connection between Google Sheets and Bloomerang CRM.

  • Help

    • Click to view help options with Google.


Uninstall the Batch Entry Add-on

If you no longer want to use the add-on in any sheet, you can uninstall it by clicking Extensions, Add-ons, Manage add-ons, and then accessing the menu for the app. Click Uninstall.


Next Steps

At this point you have installed the Batch Entry add-on and connected it to Bloomerang CRM. Next, you have to decide if you will be typing in your batch, or, if it's already in a spreadsheet, pasting it from another sheet.
