If you have an existing PayPal account that you use to process donations outside of Bloomerang CRM, you can use Zapier to connect Bloomerang CRM to PayPal. With Zapier, you can add transaction records to new or existing constituents in Bloomerang CRM after a successful sale in PayPal.
Note: For a seamless PayPal experience, enable the new PayPal & Venmo add-on in Bloomerang CRM. Zapier is not required. After you enable the add-on, Bloomerang CRM manages the connection to PayPal for you. PayPal and Venmo payment buttons appear on your online giving forms. Set Up in Zapier
Locate the template you would like to use, and click Use this Zap. You will be prompted to log in to your Zapier account.
Review the template's prebuilt settings and customize, as needed.
Step 1. Successful Sale in PayPal
Choose App & Event. This information is prefilled based on the chosen template.
Set Up Webhook. Copy the Webhook URL and follow the link “PayPal IPN settings” to add it to your PayPal account.
Find Data. Select Test & Review, select the sample data provided by PayPal and click Done Editing.
Step 2. Find or Create Constituent in Bloomerang CRM
Choose App & Event. This information is prefilled based on the chosen template.
Choose Account. Choose your Bloomerang CRM Account, then click Continue.
Customize Constituent. Constituent name and contact information is prefilled based on the chosen template, however, additional data can be added if desired.
Send Data.
Click Test & Review.
Check to see if Zapier found your existing constituent, or, head to Bloomerang CRM to see the new constituent.
Adjust your set up, as needed, then click Done Editing.
Step 3. Create Donation in Bloomerang CRM
Choose App & Event. This information is prefilled based on the chosen template.
Choose Account. Choose your Bloomerang CRM Account, then click Continue.
Customize Donation.
Under Amount, select the PayPal Mc Gross field.
Under Fund, select the Bloomerang CRM Fund you want to use for these transactions.
Under Campaign, select the Bloomerang CRM Campaign you want to use for these transactions (optional).
Under Appeal, select the Bloomerang CRM Appeal you want to use for these transactions (optional).
Under Note, select the PayPal Item Names field (optional).
Send Data.
Click Test & Review.
Check Bloomerang CRM to see the sample donation.
Adjust your set up, as needed, then click Done Editing.
Zapier lets you know when it thinks your zap is ready. Click the toggle button to turn on your zap and start receiving PayPal donation data in Bloomerang CRM or continue to the next step.
