What should I do when someone overpays on a pledge? Should I change the original pledge amount to reflect the overage or should I add the excess as a separate donation transaction?

This is up to your own discretion. If you overpay on the pledge, this overpaid amount will be reflected in your Revenue totals, but not in your Raised totals. It will also change the status of the pledge to Overpaid.
