When you enter a new donation, you will see a box for Amount and a box for Non-Deducible. In the example above, you would enter $100 in the Amount field, and $25 in the Non-Deductible field. If you are acknowledging this transaction with a letter or email, you would want to include not only the total amount, but also the amount that is and is not tax-deductible in order to provide the donor with accurate records for tax purposes. You can insert Bloomerang data fields for the total amount, the non-deductible amount, as well as the deductible amount in letters and emails.
How do I record non-deductible amounts? For example, a $100 transaction in which $25 purchased a ticket to an event and was not tax-deductible and $75 was a donation.
